Over the New Year's weekend some one relayed to me a conversation in a traditional prayer meeting about the "tsunami" during the last part of December, 2004.
It was suggested that because these countries which have suffered the tsunami have been dealing with Christians poorly, i.e., torturing them, etc., that this was God's way of settling the score. So the thought goes: countries torched Christians and God wipes out a hundred thousand plus people (some of them most likely Christians) to strike back at the countries.
Bad theology makes you stupid!
Here's an article by Tom Wright that is far better in its theological outlook. My pastor Rose Swetman passed it on to me. Rose, you need to start blogging! Read and enjoy.
